Week 3 complete, onto week 4

Another full week jammed packed with information. Last week was a very emotionally intense week. I learned about the father heart of God. God’s love for us is so big. However, knowing about God’s love is not the same as knowing (experiencing) His Love. God wants to share with all of us how much he loves us we just have to be willing to accept it. We also need to understand God’s love for us to truly know who we are (our Identity). We must deal with our past so that we can move onto the present and we need to remember that we will see God in the the future and that can be our reassurance when we have accepted Christ into our life. Last week we also talked about what hinders us from receiving God’s Love, Insecurity and finding confidence through understanding God, and we talked about forgiveness. Overall, it was a challenging week with a few tears, but good tears :)

The Weekend! Our excitement for Friday evening was going to Office Max and Kmart :) to get a few supplies and be in air conditioning and then going to Wendy’s for Frosty’s and Fries. On Saturday we went into Christiansted which is about 15 minutes from Suny Isle where the base is located. We did some perusing of the shops and looked around at some of the boats that were damaged from the Hurricane. Sunday we just relaxed at the base after Church.

Week 4 begins. This week we have Eileen Hartzler talking about Grace and Holiness a.k.a. Forgiveness and the Cross or Foundations of Christianity. This week, like all the weeks will be intense; new information mixed with review of previous knowledge. Our speaker is a little more of an introvert so not as in your face intense as the last two weeks, so this will be a little bit more relaxing than information overload :) I am excited as always to see what God is going to show me this week!

I hear the weather back home is a little cold and maybe sleetish/snowish. I will say that although I love the warmer weather, I did feel sad that I am missing out on beautiful leaves changing and white substances falling from the sky. I’m sure I will get over it quickly though :)

Love in Christ,

Kathy

Verses on God is Love! 1 John 4:7-12
Song: Majesty by Delirious

Here I am humbled by Your Majesty,
Covered by Your grace oh friend. Here I am knowing I'm a sinful man, Covered by the blood of the Lamb. Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine, Since You laid down Your life, The greatest sacrifice.

Majesty, Majesty. Your grace has found me just as I am, Empty handed but alive in Your hands.

Here I am humbled by the love that You give, Forgiven so that I can forgive. So here I stand, Knowing that I am Your desire, Sanctified by glory and fire. And now I've found the greatest love of all is mine, Since You laid down Your life, The greatest sacrife.

Majesty, Majesty. Your grace has found me just as I am, Empty handed but alive in your hands. Singing Majesty, Majesty. Forever I am changed by Your love, In the presence of Your Majesty. Majesty.

We're singing Majesty, Majesty. Your grace has found me just as I am, And I'm nothing but alive in Your hands. We're singing Majesty, Majesty. Forever I am changed by Your love, In the beauty of Your Majesty. Majesty.

"Sleetish/snowish"...not yet! We actually had an after work AmeriCorps gathering earlier this week in protest to the looming winter conditions and it turns out, we won! I've been driving with my windows down for two days straight this weekend...suck on that winter!

I hope you've had an amazingly awesome week so far and that your weekend is filled with fun in the sun and possibly a nap or two in a double wide hammock...at least, that's what I'd want if I were you:)

May God continue to blow your mind everyday through experiencing (you know, really experiencing) His ridiculously sweet love!

Love you much,
Your friend,
Matthew

Matt... have you had your eyes closed? I have seen it sleet twice now. As for today, however, it was SOOO warm and tomorrow should be a nice one too!

SOOOOO Sorry we didn't connect last weekend. I know mom told you my phone was run over by a car...and Daniel didn't get the message until way late either.

Wow, it really seems that God is working in your heart, its very powerful to read your entries. I'll stay in better contact from now on but I have been thinking and praying for you everyday!! I love you so much and am so proud of you!!!

I can't believe your in your 4th week already!! Lets try a webcam later this week? I'll also get the kids Halloween pics out soon.

Have a great week in your sun!! Catch some rays for me, please!!

All my love,
Karen (and the others;)

Hurray for Summer Part Deux!

I've heard about the sleet Jules, but I personally have not witnessed it. Somebody at work said it was lightly coming down one day but I refused to go out and take a look. To my joy it had stopped by the time I went outside next.

I didn't hear about it happening twice, but I spend most of my time out in G-Rap. While the distance isn't much, I know H-town can get different weather. And if it was in G-City, thankfully my long days working on the new youth room (with no windows) at the Red Cross last week allowed me to miss it.

Cheers to whatever came down because I think it's been unbelievably nice ever since! You still got us beat KB, but we'll take whatever we can get while it lasts:)
