Where will God lead

As I reflect over the last year, so much has changed. Last year at this time I was in Costa Rica on my DTS outreach, not having any idea that I would get married or move to the west coast. Although my life is different than what I expected it to be, I love it.


Today is Valentines Day! I used to hate this holiday and now I find myself rather enjoying it. I want to say how much I appreciate Matthew in my life. He is a wonderful husband and the greatest friend I will ever have besides God. He is kind, loving, generous, and very caring. He has a passion and energy that I am slightly jealous of :) I also want to express my love to my family and friends; you are all wonderful people and I miss being near all of you! Your support, love, encouragement, and so much more has helped me be where I am today. So thank you!!!


So what's new....


Since my last post, I have gotten a job. I work for the White Pass Community Services Coalition in Morton, WA not even a block from where we live. I am an administrative assistant working part-time (+ if needed). This is a non-profit organization that runs a transportation system from Packwood to Chehalis/Centralia, a housing/utilities assistance program, and a domestic violence/sexual assault program. I work in all aspects of these programs, but mainly I do filing, answer phones, pick up/drop of mail, and creating/updating various spreadsheets for reports for our funding sources. So far I am enjoying my work and am excited to learn more. There are so many people that need help and this organization really has a positive influence in this community.


Matt is enjoying his work. He works with the Morton Elementary School and the Morton Teen Center. Matt works in various classrooms throughout the day helping the kids mainly with math and reading. He works with several people at an after school program that can be very exhausting and has kids participating from kindergarden through fifth grade. It can be difficult to entertain all age groups with the same activities. The teen center is great. Matt really enjoys it and is making a lot of effort to get to know the teens and be a positive influence in their lives. He often goes even when he is not scheduled to work. I see how much the kids both from the school and the teen center really love having him around and they respect him too.


Where is God leading...


Right now Matt and I are weighing our options and seeking God for what to do when Matt's AmeriCorps term is done at the end of July. We would love to move to Portland, but we also have some opportunities to stay here in Morton. We would appreciate your prayers for guidance and clear understanding of where God would want us to be and what he wants us to do.


What is coming up...


March 17-21 we will be in Michigan for Julie and Jon's Wedding 
April 1-4 I will be in California for my sister Laura's Wedding


Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I hope to try to keep it updated better over the next year.
